Sit, and Observe.
Look around you.
Put your phone aside.
Take off your headphones.
Take a deep breath, listen, and simply observe.
Notice what the people around you are doing.
How does the atmosphere feel where you are right now?
Pay attention to the small details -
facial expressions, hand movements,
and anything that usually seems meaningless to you.
After a few minutes, choose one thing to focus on.
It can be a person (without being creepy:),
an animal, or even something inanimate.
Analyze what you see, hear, and notice in great detail.
See how suddenly you find yourself in a level of
focus and mental clarity you haven’t experienced in a long time.
In a single moment - no micro-expression escapes you,
no shift, no matter how small, goes unnoticed.
And now, step out of that focus.
Return to “reality.”
Try to write down everything you have noticed.
Don’t hold back with words - nothing is unnecessary.
At the end, summarize how it felt.
Maybe the first time feels strange,
but you’ll see how, each time you do this,
you become sharper, more aware - and not only during the exercise,
but in your everyday life too.
Every human interaction becomes a new puzzle to decode,
and from every conversation,
you come out more aware and sharper.
And if you made it this far, what’s the point of all this?
We live in an age where technology and digital life surround us absolutely.
If it’s not the phone, it’s the computer.
And if it’s not the computer, it’s the TV screen.
Even if you use it for essential purposes,
and even if you’re like everyone else,
“arming” yourself in the AI race with valuable knowledge,
without noticing it, your interpersonal abilities begin to weaken.
Ask yourself - when was the last time you sat with yourself in complete silence, without any distraction,
and simply were present?
They say that one of the keys to happiness is not living in the past or in the future.
You’ll spend hours reflecting on the past, entire nights thinking about what the future will bring - but how present are you really, truly?
What amazes me is that everyone is thinking about how to
understand AI better (which is definitely important),
but today more than ever, it’s actually easy to win,
to stand out, and simply enjoy more -
by just being here.
